About the Artist & the Artwork
My mission is really quite simple: I want to add beauty to the world and inspire people to follow their hearts and dreams, beginning with their homes, offices and environments.
Hello and welcome! Thank you for spending time in my little corner of expression. My name is Ivette and I live near Missoula, Montana with my husband Matt and my doggie, Blondie. My favorite things in life are laughing with family and friends, walks in nature with Blondie, the sea, music concerts, yoga, travel and of course, Art! I create in order to satisfy a need to add beauty to the world, to make it a little nicer, one painting at a time. I use my hands to express that which my words can’t. With that being said, my work is not a monologue. My loose, almost abstract style invites the viewer to participate, to bring his inner world into my art.
I grew up in 3 different countries and lived in 3 others as an adult (and traveled pretty much the rest of the world) and I speak 5 languages. Having experienced a variety of cultures and seeing a wide scope of the world has increased my appreciation for art and for the abundant beauty that surrounds us.

Moments of JoyIs it possible that a good life is a collection of small moments of joy rather than any one spectacular achievement? Whether it's a walk in nature, laughing with your spouse, cuddling with your pet, or that beautiful painting you look at everyday, that one you have a special connection with, the one which ignites an emotion and brings a sparkle to your eye each time you glance at? Part of my small moments of joy is for a piece of art I created to belong to someones else's moments of joy, Those precious little moments that add up to a good and happy life, because I wholeheartedly believe that art is food for the soul.

Finding the Middle WayThe one thing I'm consistent about in life is living my passion and pursuing my dreams.
My artwork style is abstract-realistic: I traveled across the world in search of my purpose and found it in art. Through my art I connect past and present, bridge between dreams and reality, the spiritual and the material, between different and often opposing worlds. My work is about contrasts and polarities, about freedom and union. It’s about beauty, dreams and finding your place in this world. It’s is about adapting and belonging, about companionship and purpose. My work is about balance and finding the middle way between extremes. |
